چکیده

This study was conducted to examine effects of ensiling, toasting or ensiling plus in partial-crop field peas and faba beans harvested each with 375 g dry matter/kg (Biologische Bundesanstalt, Bundessortenamt und Chemische Industrie (BBCH) scale 79 81, respectively) on gas production post-ruminal crude protein (PRCP) concentration by vitro incubation ruminal fluid batch-cultures. The silages made from (Rostock Model Silages) had a pH 4.3 4.6, respectively, were not typically lactic acid dominated. remained stable after opening for 100 h (peas) 168 (faba beans). Toasting simulated drying oven at 160 °C 60 min. Post-incubation accumulation profiles little affected treatment. Ensiling did alter effective PRCP. increased PRCP up 25 20%-points 35 11%-points beans, respectively. non-protein nitrogen soluble concentration, whilst decreased protein. Significant correlations existed between fraction B3 (neutral detergent-insoluble protein) (r≥0.84; P<0.05) C (acid (r≥0.79; P<0.05). both arginine lysine levels. It concluded that BBCH can provide readily available nutrients high-quality fibre the residual plant. However, preserving required balance reduction fermentability characteristics. reduced solubility PRCP, but it clear if usable ruminants partially bound into Maillard polymers.

Effects of Synchronization of Carbohydrate and Protein Supply on Ruminal Fermentation, Nitrogen Metabolism and Microbial Protein Synthesis in Holstein Steers

Three rumen-cannulated Holstein steers were fed three diets, each with a different synchrony index (SI) (LS: 0.77, MS: 0.81, and HS: 0.83), in order to examine the effect of diet on rumen fermentation, nitrogen balance, and microbial protein synthesis. Synchrony index was calculated based on the carbohydrate and crude protein fractions of each ingredient and their degradation rates. Feeding the...

Ruminal fermentation pattern, bacterial population and ruminal degradation of feed ingredients as influenced by ruminal ammonia concentration.

The effects of ruminal ammonia concentration on bacterial numbers, fermentation pattern and degradation of feed ingredients in the rumen were examined with three nonlactating Holstein cows fitted with ruminal cannulas. Cows were fed twice daily a complete mixed diet (90% whole plant oat silage and 10% concentrate mixture) containing 11.1% CP on a DM basis. Ammonium bicarbonate (NH4HCO3) was inf...

Effects of urea infusion and ruminal degradable protein concentration on microbial growth, digestibility, and fermentation in continuous culture.

The effects of urea and rumen-degradable protein (RDP) on microbial growth, digestibility, and fermentation were examined using dual-flow continuous culture. The experimental design was a 4 x 4 Latin square with a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement of treatments. Factors were urea infusion (0.4 g/L of artificial saliva) and RDP concentration, and the treatments were as follows: 1) low RDP (8% of dieta...

Effects of extracts derived from pistachio by-products on ruminal fermentation and methane production

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of different doses of pistachio by-product (PBP) extracts supplemented with alfalfa hay (AH) or barley grain (BG) on microbial fermentation in an in vitro fermentation system. The total extracted phenolic compounds were 36.96, 65.78, 67.02 and 8.85% and total extracted tannin contents were 37.11, 59.64, 56.87 and 7.55% when PBP was extract...
